What’s New for 2008 Spring maintenance underway as of March, and looking forward to another sailing season. What’s New for 2006 - 2007 ALYAN is fit with a new propeller shaft, and the propeller
is reconditioned. General maintenance
is performed as usual. What’s New for 2005 ALYAN is fitted with a new ZF/Hurth transmission and new
custom made drive train system.
General maintenance has been performed as usual to keep her sound,
fast, and looking good. What’s New for 2004 The US Department of Transportation, Maritime
Administration has granted ALYAN
a small passenger vessel waiver for operation in the coastwise
trade. General maintenance is
performed as usual. What’s New for 2003 ALYAN underwent major refinishing work in
Florida last winter. New paint and
varnish in the cockpit is looking sharp.
A new dodger and dodger frame give her a new appearance and little
more protection from the elements. What's New for 2002 ALYAN is sporting a new
set of sails for the 2002 season. A new mainsail and a new genoa by Doyle
Sailmakers of Long Island have been added to the already extensive sail
inventory this spring. ALYAN's main engine, a
60 HP Mercedes Benz 220 (OM615), has under gone a complete rebuild this past
winter. New cylinder liners, new pistons, new bearings, new camshaft, new
valves, etc. Your
captain, Derrick T. Galen, has upgraded his USCG (United States Coast
Guard) 100 Ton Near Coastal Sail Auxiliary Master's license to a 200 Ton Near
Coastal Sail Auxiliary Master's license. |
